I was born and raised in Hilo, Hawaii and graduated from Hilo High School in 2001. I attended the University of Wyoming in 2001-2005 and received the degree of Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. Immediately after graduating from Wyoming, I moved back to Hilo and was employed as an Educational Assistant at Hilo High School, a Substitute Teacher for Hawaii District schools, as well as a Head Golf Coach for Hilo High School. I was on the move again to Honolulu to pursue graduate studies at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I lived in Honolulu during 2006-2008 and was employed as a Legislative Assistant for the Hawaii House of Representatives during the 2007 Legislative Session, as well as a Substitute Teacher for Honolulu District schools, alongside attending UH-Manoa. After graduating from UH-Manoa with the degree of Master of Public Administration, I returned to Hilo to pursue a career. When making my first career choice, I decided teaching and working with children was my ultimate passion. As such, I decided to pursue licensure from the Teacher Education Program at the University of Hawaii at Hilo.
